The End

The End. By Pearl Jam.

Found it on Castle-it's my new jam. [See, watching TV just brings me to the most excellent music!] It's a beautiful song and I obviously picked a YouTube vid with my new favorite show CASTLE--oh how I love it most dearly. Stana Katic, Nathan Fillion, Seamus Dever, Jon Huertas, Tamala Jones and the rest of the cast are simply, simply AMAZING <3

I will now end this post or I would not be able to
restrain myself & would seriously go on for days
about how much I love Castle and Stana Katic.

[From the person that made the above YouTube Video] Music featured in the episode "Sucker Punch" is "The End" by Pearl Jam. I used the scene that features this track to open this video. I wanted to highlight Beckett's story, what makes Castle call her extraordinary and his admiration for the way she sympathises with the victims left behind after the murders they investigate.

You're Extremely Hot

POST SECRET had it's Valentine's Day too. (Yes, it is a tad late, sue me)

I LOVE this one (1st-front, 2nd-on back). I hate it when people negatively comment on things I love and enjoy. That's why, if the don't care about it as much as me, I usually like watching TV shows and movies when I'm at home by myself. Or when people make ignorant and arrogant comments about things happening in the world; I hate annoying comments and questions.

This one just makes me smile, how funny.....
and sad that they've not noticed at the same time.
But it's pretty clever and creative. I would
have never thought of that.

Don't you hate it when you see stuff on facebook you wish you hadn't? Like in general, not this specific-- just things in your newsfeed, links, statuses (what is the plural of status...?), pictures--that you could have, and rather had gone, all day with out seeing. Oh unrequited love, pent up anger, suppressed feelings and memories, and built up resentment. haha

Hope you had a good Valentine's Day. I did.

Female Powerhouses of Acting

I've been extremely busy this week and
last week and next week...basically all
semester, but I feel like I should blog--
it's been a while.

As you all are fully aware, I hold my TV shows very near and dear to me heart. They're my times to escape, to relax, to be entertained, I find some excellent tunes on a regular basis, and I get to see my favorite characters in action.

You know when you're younger and your teacher asks you who you look up too/your role model, etc? You say like some famous athlete, firemen/police officers or your parents (which, I mean, mine totally are, and my older sister, Shannon too, for sure; they just aren't my only ones). Well mine, I have decided are a few select actresses & their characters on my favorite TV shows. They are just so fantastic and make their shows, characters, emotions real on the screen. I'm obsessed, I'm a fanatic, and I am perfectly okay with it.

Emily Deschanel--Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan [BONES]

Stana Katic--Detective Kate Beckett [CASTLE]

AJ Cook--FBI Special Agent Jenifer "JJ" Jareau [CRIMINAL MINDS]

Paget Brewster--FBI Special Agent Emily Prentiss [CRIMINAL MINDS]

Sasha Alexander--Dr. Maura Isles/(previously)NCIS Agent Caitlin "Kate" Todd [RIZZOLI & ISLES/NCIS]

Anggie Harmon--Detective Jane Rizzoli [RIZZOLI & ISLES]

Do you notice anything? They're all bad ass crime fighters? Heck. Freaking. Yes. (Being a cop is my Plan B if this whole writer/getting married here at BYU falls through...seriously, I was just on the NYPD Recruitment/Police Academy site on Monday) These are the celebs I adore. (Plus, Kelly Clarkson and T-Swift, I mean really.. .and some other music stars, but there will be another post I'm sure).

They are just so freaking amazing. Yes, I am fully aware they are fictional characters and they aren't real (although Bones is based on a real life person, so *bam*); but what does it matter? They're all determined to find the truth. They're all confident in their jobs and ability to solve the case, even if they may be less so confident in their personal lives. They're all a little jaded and have a past (mostly traumatic) that they overcome to be the best at their job. They're all funny. They all could take down any guy and totally own him (and they all have...well maybe not Dr. Isles--but she could). They're all SO beautiful. They all have risen to the top in their fields in a "mans world." They're so dynamic and real. They're all so persistent and humble (well Bones struggles with that, maybe). They're who I want to be. I mean who in their right mind wouldn't use them for a good role model?

Then the actual-real life people. They are all HILARIOUS. They aren't in the tabloid magazines every other week for drama/drugs/DUIs/etc. They aren't breaking up with boyfriends/husbands every 5 seconds, they aren't pushing their political views on their fans, they aren't "too cool for school." They're just...people, legitimate and aware of the world around them. They have GREAT co-stars (and pretty attractive guy opposites characters ;) too; David Boreanza, Nathan Fillion, Mark Harmon, David Weatherly, Shemar Moore anyone?)

Emily Deschanel in my FAVORITE and such an amazing actress and super not hollywood and is super funny. She's really smart and looks amazing, even in her forensic jumpsuit, lets be real. She is my favorite actress ever, in my favorite show ever. She is just great. I have seen every episode of Bones mulitiple times because she never, ever gets old; and is entertaining all day long, I would know, I became hooked on Bones with an all day marathon my junior year of high school on New Years Day.

Stana Katic, a new name to my list and current obsession--Castle just became one of my new shows-I'm hooked and just watched it from pilot episode to current episode. Stana is a great actress-her facial expressions when she's acting are the best I've ever seen; I re-watch scenes over and over and am amazed at how good she is. And she's like a freaking genius. She can speak 6 languages and one of her hobbies is astrophysics-her hobby. I wonder if her and AJ Cook knew/know each other, they're both from Ontario...

AJ Cook, I love her and miss her so dearly in Criminal Minds. She's LDS (score for us). She's awesome and one of the best actresses I have seen to render emotions in the audience, and her facial expressions are fantastic too. She's so totally real and really is down to earth and stays out of the lime-light. Even back in the day in movies like Out Cold. Plus, all 3 of these actresses can sing super well. She is so simple and so intense at her job and so classy. I bawled like a baby when she left CM and I'm still not over it and the show has certainly suffered without her.

Paget Brewster is by far the funniest actress, EVER. Maybe not as classy as the others, but her interviews make laugh so hard, but then she is so serious when her characters call for it. Plus, her name is Paget-so sweet. And she never gave up on acting when it was practically begging for her to quit. I'm going to be devastated when she leaves CM too. She's crazy and fearless and fun.

Sasha Alexander, she's just so genuine and so are her charcters. I bawled like baby when she was killed in NCIS and was delighted when Rizzoli & Isles came out with her as a main character, she SO deserves this. I love watching her on the screen, she's just really put together and classy.

Angie Harmon, classic tomboy, don't-take-crap girl in Rizzoli & Isles and was on the original Law & Order (speaking of which--SVU: Mariska Hargitay, she's pretty dang legit too). Anyway, she's just BA and and a no nonsense person and just straight up, she is who she is.

I really could go on and on and on.....and on about how much I love these actress and their characters. I can not get enough of them. I wish I was as BA and confident as them. I wish I could run around in heels with a gun, kicking down doors saving the day. It would be sick. haha I would put in some quotes by their characters, but 1-if you don't watch the show, you wouldn't get it. 2-I wouldn't be able to choose and would have like a MILLION. They are all fantastic actress with great writers for their shows and makes you care, makes you cry, makes you feel what they're feeling, makes you want to change the world, makes you NEED to tune in every week; and that is great TV. I follow them all on Twitter (if they have one/I've searched for it) and if I ever got to go to LA, I admit it, I would stalk all of them down, it's very true. Because if I could ever meet any of them and get a picture with then and their autograph I would practically die with joy. It would be amazing. Looking up to all of them for years, their shows saving me from life when it gets to overwhelming and getting to meet them would be amazing. Gotta love them, they're amazing, simply. amazing. and I could talk about them all day. I can't wait for the new episodes every week and can't wait for new seasons and new character development.

I mean...I have ringtones for my
cell from Castle and Bones...

Stand in the Rain

Stand in the Rain-Superchic[k]

So, in a nightly internet stalking of YouTube videos of Criminal Minds and Bones (this season is becoming quite intense) many moons ago, I came across this song. It's a jam. It rocks. I love it. I listen to it everyday, often many times a day. I love that I stumbled upon it (no, not, just literally came across it randomly) it is truly a great song and I would have probably never come across it any other way. Also, some of the BEST places to get new tunes is from TV shows and movies, for surrre.

I looked for an official video of it, but I don't think they have one. Soooo, I picked my fav. Why is it my favorite, you ask?

a) It's not a black screen with the lyrics scrawled across it
b) It's not a weird anime movie/show clips to a great song [I really dislike those, they're weird and is anime]
c) It features JJ (AJ Cook) from Criminal Minds!! duhhh I miss her dearly & will miss Emily (Paget Brewster) dearly. **Tangent thought--Paget, coolest name ever or weirdest name ever? It grew on me quickly; I really, really like it now**
d) It's put together really well-it's not blurry and is a good montage of clips from CM
e) It's all about JJ, oh wait, I already said that. ha!
f) It has all the [original] CM people in it, so I'm happy.
g) It just kinda makes me feel better :)

She never slows down.
She doesn't know why but she knows that when she's all alone, feels like its all coming down
She won't turn around
The shadows are long and she fears if she cries that first tear, the tears will not stop raining down

So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it's all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won't drown
And one day, whats lost can be found
You stand in the rain

She won't make a sound
Alone in this fight with herself and the fears whispering if she stands she'll fall down
She wants to be found
The only way out is through everything she's running from wants to give up and lie down.

So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it's all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won't drown
And one day, whats lost can be found
You stand in the rain

So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it's all crashing down
Stand through the pain
You won't drown
And one day, whats lost can be found

So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when it's all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won't drown
And one day, whats lost can be found
You stand in the rain

Konichiwa, Mate

DESPICABLE ME. Classic animated-comedy. Funniest line, Agnes, "It's so FLUFFY, I'm gonna die!" Okay, what was up with the three little girls having old lady names? Edith, Margo, and Agnes? What was that all about it, I thought it was pretty funny. I was definitely laughing a heck of a lot more than I ever thought I would. Sometimes you just gotta watch a cartoon and let the simple humor make us laugh hysterically. Steve Carrell-always great. People getting hurt/cartoons never dying from something that would kill any real person-always funny. Weird creatures that don't speak English-always entertaining.

Gru: Your dog has been leaving bombs in my yard.
Fred McDade: Oh you know dogs... they go where they want!
Gru: Not if they're dead.

Okay, obviously I would NEVER EVERRR give up my cable TV, that would horrible. But, I do LIVE for the comics. When I still lived at home my mom (who reads the newspaper like a fiend) would save the comics for me and put them in my room everyday. I just LOVE reading the comics. Garfield, Peanuts (that's Charlie Brown), Zits, Dilbert, Beatle Bailey, all of them. I have been known to laugh out loud at them and even cut some out [I should start doing that again]. Plus the comic page is also the sudoku page, the "Ask Abby" [my dream job] page and the thought of the day page [depending on your paper, that was there in The Watertown Daily Times]. Sunday comics were the best obviously. Color and sooo many more strips. I still read the comics everyday. The Daily Universe has a Comics/Sudoku page and I read the every weekday during lunch. I greatly look forward to this time of the day every single day. It's my "me" time. And when I can get all 3 sudoku puzzles [easy, medium, hard & very hard on Friday's edition] I feel so smart. And when I can't or mess up, AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! haha When I get home over the summer my mom will start giving me all the comics everyday after she's done with them, I can't wait. Simple pleasures in life people, simple pleasures in life.

Lastly, since Friday at noon I have literally been watching/playing sports. Two tennis matches (they are like 5 hours long), 2 volleyball matches (2 hours), a basketball game (2 more hours) I played some racquetball and kept score for an intramural basketball game. HOURS y'all it's been GREAT and stressfullllllll. Tennis really is SO FREAKING intense and stressful & Aubrey is amazing at tennis, and yelling my heart out at basketball games and volleyball games (Balcony seats for one and COURT SEATS SUCKAAAS for the second one). BYU sports are the best, I wish I could just go to sports all day and never have class haha

No, I will never have enough pictures with Cosmo, I love him so dearly :]

I came out to my car after the volleyball match and found this lovely note left on Maxwell, I would say I probably know them, but then again, we are at BYU and it could have been a "random act of kindness" haha So great.

BUT wait, there's more!
My SPORTS WEEKEND doesn't end yet; tomorrow is SUPERBOWL XLV I'm excited. GO PACK! After this, I'm pretty sure my sports watching for the last 3 days will be around 20 hours ahah good weekend. It's going to be rough going back to school this week.

I Just Can't Keep My Eyes Off You

Why do we stare at train wrecks (literally & figuratively)? Why can we not help ourselves? We love to watch the total and utter everything.

The loud couple fighting in public

The friends awkwardly fighting in
front of the whole group

Crowding around crime scene tape

Slowing down and "rubber-necking"
at the car crash on the highway

Facebook stalking exes even though it
might make us a little jealous

Facebook stalking (again, what has social
networks done to us) friends to find out
the things we don't talk to them about even
though we don't actually want to know and it
makes us want to die inside a little

Watching the same YouTube clip of the skater
biffing it so bad on his neck/face/*ahem*
it makes us cringe, but we keep clicking
replay over and over again anyways

Trying to get to the fight that's breaking out
in the street so we have the best view of the
2 guys pounding on each other for who knows why

Watching a real surgery or medical
[gross] phenomenon on TV that makes
us want to throw up, but we don't
change the channel (well maybe that
one can be explained by the fact
that the remote is not within an
arms length? lol)

The YouTube clip/AFV video of the girl
in high heels falling at graduation

The movie that makes us bawl like a baby
(learning to self-soothe) every time we watch
it, but we own it on DVD, BlueRay and on iTunes.

The text/email with bad news that
we read over and over again

The police chase that ends in the
car flipping about thirty times
off the highway
The sports clip of the soccer
players leg snapping in half we
watch so many times our leg starts
to physically hurt

We stare, we judge, we snoop, we double-take, we openly gawk, we snicker, we laugh, we gape, we peak through hands over our eyes, we point, we tell others.

What is wrong with us?

We wish it was our birthday so we could party too!

Guys, it's been a YEAR! (Well, it will be on the 26th) I've had this blog for a whole year. Wow. So here's the thing, my URL was a LITTLE lengthy, so I've shortened it up a lot. It's now:

So, mark it down, save it, bookmark it, 'favorite' it, memorize it, whatever. Just know it's changed.

Anywho, it's my blogs birthday, it's a whopping one year old. This is a big deal. Seriously. Birthdays are kinda weird in my opinion. Speaking of which, mine is SUPER soon---oh wait, never mind it's in July. I'll be 20.....I'm sorry, what? No longer a teenager? Is that allowed? How odd. Some people completely temporarily lose their minds on their birthdays, which I've never understood. Celebrations they want dragged out all week, tradition, parties, balloons. **I still have yet to blow up a balloon from Jessica's birthday last year, {}. It's nearing a year since I've blown up a balloon.**

When you're little and you fall asleep in your cake with chocolate from hairline to chin and the parentals snap a pic and stick it in your Life Photo Album (back when it was actually up to date).

When you're in elementary and middle school and you bring cupcakes to class (all of sudden you have SO many more friends, actually I say that like I've experienced that. I haven't, my birthday is in the summer, but it's still true.) and your birthday parties are possibly themed, or you go bowling, or ice skating. I've had a few bowling (I OWN a bowling pin, scoreeee) and ice skating birthday parties. They're fun.

Then you're older and what? You hang out, go out to dinner with friends and your family. You start asking for things you actually need instead of just want. Some people have massive parties and huge celebrations and party all night long, go to clubs, etc, etc.

Then at college your roommates and friends take over. You get a cake. You get a few things, and maybe a package from your mom and dad, facebook notifications out the yin yang (from people you haven't seen since 4th grade, they are oh so very heartfelt). Texts, a few phone calls, you go out to eat (maybe the ONLY time you do that, that semester--que poor college student stigma) Maybe going bowling to a movie or a sporting event of your college/university. Again, only a witness--summer birthday remember.

Here's my thing with birthdays, I never really feel different. Do you? Do you wake up and think, "oh yeah, I DEFINITELY feel older"? I don't think they are a huge deal, or rather I wish they weren't. Most of my birthdays have been spent with boxes around me (unpacking/packing) because we're in the process of moving (recall that I am an Army Brat). So, my seasonal fortunes of nice weather are usually marred by the fact that I have zero friends. Yay me. Or a lot of people go on fam-vaca's in the summer sooo yeah, they aren't around. So, I didn't really look forward to the big 7/02 every year. I may have said I was excited, but really not so much-at the end of the day when my birthday is over I generally feel like it was just another day. On the years I've had parties it's usually a small party with a my core gang. I'm not a party-er, so that's cool. And thanks to all my friends over the years, whether I've been in the same state with them or not, for the texts, calls, gifts, cakes and things we did to celebrate. I'm not saying I don't like my birthday, I just don't go off the deep end with excitement like I see most people do. And I mean, I like making other people's birthdays exciting and fun.

Once, I had a birthday during a family reunion. 2 cakes-one was like a sheet cake but it was something, I forget. The other had a barbie IN it. Like the cake was the barbies DRESS. How sick is that? So cool. And I got a Lion King CD-Rom game. So awesome. Also, when I was littler I had a "scuba steve," I don't recall what it was actually called, but that's what it was essentially. My mom usually does the stacked cake for us, but my favorite is a layered dessert cake, so she usually makes that for me. I've been at Girls Camp on my birthday (my 12th, and I was sick and our campsite flooded and my sister, Shannon and her friend Tiffany silly stringed me, but my leader was a masseuse and I got the best massage of my life)

I think the last birthday party I had was the summer after my 7th grade year before I moved to Washington. (so that would have been Megan and Morgan---miss y'all). My birthdays these days usually consist of a few things I really wanted/needed and dinner with my family and/or friends and seeing a movie with them. And when you go out to eat on your birthday you get to wear sombrero hats or sit on horse saddles and get you picture taken, and you get free dessert and a whole restaurant singing "Happy Birthday" to you. So, score right there.

Last year, we had just moved and my cousin took me to lunch (Mexican) and that evening my Uncle and other cousin took me to DQ and we saw a movie. Then the next day the whole fam and extended got together and did the whole cake and presents bit....and we went to Outback? I think, or the day before. Eh, within a week of my birthday. So, successful day. So, as we slowly encroach on my 20th birthday what do I want? Shoot, I don't know. I have a list of movies I want on DVD and I'll go out to eat with my family [either Mexican or Thai food] and I'll get a hundred facebook notifications from friends who live nowhere near me. Hopefully, I'll get to see Wicked again when it comes to the Kennedy Center in DC this summer. I'm good with that, what else would I do? Maybe I'll look into going to an amusement park, they're always....well, amusing :P

I'm pretty low key, so low key birthdays are basically fine with me, I do wish I could have spent more with friends and had more parties-but I got to a point when my mom would ask me what I wanted to do/have a party and I just didn't. But I do wish one year my friends had thrown me a surprise birthday party (and now if I ever get one it's just because I asked, so you can't do it anymore haha jk), that would have been sweet. I've been a part of several surprise birthday parties, but I've never had one. I think my fav was Colleen's her senior year of high school-we scared the living daylights out of her. That was a funny. Well, that's it. Happy birthday blog and happy birthday to everyone this year on their birthdays (how proactive of me).
